Today more than ever, we need to be a little more kind and a little more empathetic.

World Kindness Day

While World Kindness Day is observed internationally on November 13 it shouldn’t be the “one day” to be kind. Being kind starts at home with our children with our every day actions. This reminds me of time when I visited the playground with my then 6 year old, and how that visit turned into a life-long lesson on empathy, kindness and gratitude.

I encourage you as a parent, caregiver and/or educator talk to your children about kindness.

Ask them what is kindness?

Depending on their age they can write it down or draw it.  Also, ask them to write or draw three things that they can do to show others kindness. Or that someone has done for them that was kind.

For your older kids or students they may enjoy this word search that I created for World Kindness Day. Because I am all about raising and teaching bilingual kids I made one in Spanish and another in English. Just pick the one you’d like to use and it also has the answer key.
